Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog.  The idea of starting a blog has been in the back of my mind for about a year.  I decided to take the plunge and not wait until I know what I am doing and my photography skills are better.  So, be patient with me as I learn how to do this.   I am so inspired by all the wonderful blogs out there.  I learn so much and get great ideas from blogs.  For me, this will be a wonderful way to record our life here in Texas and the many projects I like to try. 

We live on 12 acres in Central Texas.  We have 3 longhorn cows, one calf, 5 ducks, 31 chickens,  1 rooster, 2 cats and 1 chocolate lab dog.  The picture above is of our Lady Banks rose.  I have 4 of them.  They were a Mother's Day gift from my husband the first year we moved here.  What I love about antique roses is there toughness.  They were planted in an area where they were neglected and yet they lived.  We transplanted them closer to the house and they are beautiful and finally starting to grow even after a record breaking drought.
